it seems like smartphones that cost $100 or less are about to explode in popularity, which sounds like good news. many of these inexpensive phones can support a wide array of apps now, making them more worth having.

This does sound like good news. I'd still be wary of buying a cheap phone, though, unless I could test it out first. I'd have to see it to believe it's as good as the more expensive models.
