Welcome to the mail2web.com Forums.

Hello from Vancouver
Hi, folks.
I decided to join this forum because it seems like a convenient way to provide feedback, ask questions, and (I hope) learn how to use mail2web more effectively.
I have been using mail2web for about ten years now. I first heard about it from Steve Bass, a PC World columnist who still runs a few Yahoo! Groups, and has a Tech Bites newsletter that he emails out about once a week. I started using mail2web because it was a convenient way to check my home email from anywhere with an Internet connection. However, there have also been several times when it was the only way to access my email. For example, I use Eudora 6.2 on my home computer (and haven’t bothered upgrading) and sometimes it doesn’t behave properly. So I end up going over to mail2web to check emails. Plus I like the fact I can delete garbage right off the server instead of downloading it to my computer--wasting space as well as running the risk of downloading a virus, spyware, etc.
A little bit about me:
I have a couple web sites that I work on as a hobby. In addition, I do some computer programming in C++ and Javascript, mostly numerical routines intended for science and engineering students. I am also in the process of writing a couple articles which will hopefully get submitted this autumn.
Well, I think that’s about all for now. I am going to head over to a few of the other forums and post a few questions and perhaps feature requests.
Regards.

Hi David,
Nice to meet you, you have been using Mail2web for quite some time it looks like. I think I could definetly learn a thing or two from you about all its feautures. You seem like you really know your way around a computer, what type of web sites do you make?

Thanks for the welcomes.

Here is the URL to one of the websites on which I work:
Numerical Mathematical Utilities
(The most popular part of it anyhow.)
Actually, I recently volunteered to work on the website of a local elementary school, and they use Sharepoint. I don't know Sharepoint so could use a good resource. I don't suppose anybody in these forums is a Sharepoint expert? Or could recommend a good reference? I don't find the Help files that come with it very helpful. Right now, we are doing a complete changeover from one version of the site to another; finding a quick way to simply pass everything over would be ideal. Otherwise, I am going to manually copy all files from one version to the other, re-copy all text, re-format, etc. Sharepoint seems kind of clunky, so if anybody could recommend pointers to make the task easier for me, it would be much appreciated.
In case you are curious, here is the old site:
Old PAC Page
Here is the new page:
New PAC Page
(Notice the new site has tabs).

David

Wow that looks like some advanced stuff going on there. It reminds me of Calculus classes in college, do you teach classes at a school?

I still have nightmares about calclulus class in college!

That's great that you volunteered to work on an elementary school's website. Public schools always appreciate volunteering in whatever form it comes in.

I've always wanted to go Vancouver. It must be pretty exciting there this week with the Stanley Cup in sight.

I have a feeling tonight could be Vancouver's big night!
