    Default What is the difference

    Hi,

What is the difference between the Mail2web hosted exchange and the standard service? Is that a service for larger companies?

Our Business Exchange service is domain based, so you can use your companies domain name and brand with the service, and you can configure multiple accounts under your domain, like you@your-company.com, bob@your-company.com, etc. And built into Microsoft Exchange 2007 are features which allow users in the same domain to share and collaborate in some ways. For example, you can share your calendar with a colleauge in your domain and he can see what you're up to.

With mail2web Live, your email account is on our @mail2web.com domain, and you don't get these collaboration features with other users.

The business exchance service sounds interesting, are there any options that have to be configured with the hosting company a person is using to setup Mail2web's services?

If you already own a domain name and are hosting it somewhere else, you will need to change the MX record on your domain. This is basically a DNS setting that tells email servers which server to send your email to as it arrives. You can use any web hosting provider you like, and just change your MX record to point your mail server to mail2web.com's Business Exchange.

If you host your website with our sister-company, myhosting.com, we make it even easier for you and will make the modifications automatically.

Thanks so much for clearing up the difference between the two. I was wondering the same thing. I'm definitely more interested in the domain based email addresses, but I worry about it being difficult to set up.

Right now my domain is with NameCheap, is your service compatible with them?

You definitely get greater functionality with the hosted exchange.

I agree that hosted exchange provides the optimum in functionality, in company branding opportunities, and in ease of use. Having multiple email addresses under one domain can be a big help.
