    Default standalone install

    Can you save a lot of money by simply going with a SharePoint standalone install? Are you able to do much with a standalone install -- is it worth the savings?

    At first glance, the standalone install looks like it would be the best for development purposes. The benefits appear to be:

    Standalone will automatically install SQL Express for you.
    Standalone will install using local accounts.

    Yes, It is save a little money by using standalone install, Because standalone install use the Express edition of SQL Server instead of a full version of SQL Server.
