    Default SharePoint Correlation ID's + troubleshooting

    Sometimes when an error message comes up on SharePoint, you get a bunch of numbers called the "Correlation ID." What do you use the Correlation ID for, though? Can it help you troubleshoot?

    The correlation ID is a GUID (globally unique identifier) that is automatically generated for every request that the SharePoint web server receives. Basically, it is used to identify your particular request, and it persists throughout further communications, if any, between the other servers in the farm.
