    Default RIM giving up hardware?

There is some murmuring going on now that RIM's best course of action would be to give up making hardware, which would mean abandoning all BlackBerry products, and focus on its network. Does anyone believe this is even a remote possibility?

It does seem more and more likely now that RIM will stop making phones. They could be successful just licensing BlackBerry apps and operating systems, I think.

I would've thought this move was imminent. But the brand-new RIM CEO, Thorsten Heins, says the company does not need any major changes, which is intriguing.
