    Angry [Alias issue] mail sended is cc to an alias mailbox are not transmitted to the ...

    Hi,

    Please find another issue with the alias feature.

    I cannot send a email to alternate mailboxes setted on my mail2web account.

    If i try to send an email to someone with one of my alternate mailbox address in cc , the mail is not transmitted to the real smtp server in charge of the domain.

    Let's me provide you a complet use case:

    - I have a mail2web account called "sampleaccount@mail2web.com";
    - I've setted an alias for "sampleaccount@gmail.com";
    - I've sended a email from the "sampleaccount@mail2web.com" primary identify to "sampledestinationaccount@gmail.com" with "sampleaccount@gmail.com" in CC:
    ------------------------
    from: "sampleaccount@mail2web.com"
    to: "sampledestinationaccount@gmail.com"
    cc: "sampleaccount@gmail.com"
    ------------------------
    - "sampledestinationaccount@gmail.com" receive the mail but not "sampleaccount@gmail.com";

    - "sampleaccount@mail2web.com" receive also the email with these envelope:
    ------------------------
    from: "sampleaccount@mail2web.com"
    to: "sampledestinationaccount@gmail.com"
    cc: "sampleaccount@mail2web.com"
    ------------------------

    The expected result is to also receive a copy of the email in the "sampleaccount@gmail.com" mailbox.

    Regards,
    M.

    Hi
    please find the answer from the helpdesk

    Objet : RE: [Case #: 411502] Support - [Alias issue] mail sended is cc to an al

    Greetings,

    Thank you for contacting us with your concern. Unfortunately anytime you are trying to email or cc any of your aliased addresses it is going to find the mailbox internally and sent it directly back to your account. That being said we do not have a way to resolve the internal redirect, the only way you can avoid this is be removing the alias address at this time.

    If you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our 24/7 support team at support@mail2web.com.

    Thank you for using mail2web.com.
    Regards,

    It's hard to accept that.

    So,
    I've reply the following answer:

    Hi,

    Can you provide to us , the customers, the full list of behaviours regards the unusable alias feature ?

    I think this is really needed.
    I'm sorry to have to say this but this is a "non feature".
    It's the poorest implementation i ever see.

    This is by design the way the Exchange server works. When you add an "alternate email address", if the Exchange server sees an email addressed to that address it says "I know that email address, it belongs to this user, so I'll just deliver it to him locally".

    If you don't like this behavior, you can remove the email address as an "alternate email address" and just leave your normal forwarding setting.

    I find this unbareable. I am experiencing the same issues

    Lets say I have a business called joeblow and I have my own website and therefore a hosting account. On this hosting account I have joe@joeblow.com now in order to keep in touch with my clients I created joeblow@mail2web.com and on my server set a forwarder that sends a copy of all my mail to it so that I can get my email on my iphone on the road. I then set the primary from address on this mail2web account as joe@blow.com ANYONE that uses your service that tries to send mail to jow@joeblow.com will only be able to send mail to OWA and Iphone and not my actual email address on my hosting account. Whats the point in that if we cannot keep a copy of all imporant email in one place.

    I just discovered this issue when I mistakenly recommended your service to another client. Now that client is all set up on your service and is no longer able to send me email to my office computer because when he sends email to joe@joeblow.com from his iphone it only is received on my iphone.

    Thats nuts... Time to try mobileme.

    And it took a loss of about $950 in revenue and about 12 personal hours of my time to trouble shoot this issue with your tech support who even said that all they can see is when the mail leaves their server and didn't even bother to check to see if it did??? My god this is a very poor customer relationship issue here.

    Tim this means that when we reply to email on our iphones that is sent to us via a foward from our actual business email addresses the reply comes from the mail2web.com address and not our business address. This situation effectivly makes the mail2web hosted exchance server email useless to 80% of your current customers..

    The idea behind any exchange account is that it becomes the central mailbox that you use, it’s meant to replace your other email accounts rather than work in parallel. Any email addresses that you setup as ‘Alternate’ become email addresses on the mail2web system, the idea is that it eliminates the need for your other mailbox entirely since you can then send and receive to your mail2web exchange mailbox as if it were the other mailboxes.

    What is the particular reason you need to use both separately? Perhaps we can find a resolution for that and then there would no longer be an issue?

    Default parallel use

    I thought the explanation of how it's not for parallel use was especially helpful. Is that made clear in your content elsewhere so people are made aware before they make the switch?
