Why not Always Secure Log-in?
Whenever I log in to mail2web, I always go through the secure log-in.
Now I am wondering, why would anybody want to use the non-secure log-in? Wouldn't it be better to simply have one log-in, the secure version, and simply no longer offer the non-secure option?

We don't control the web browsers our visitors use to connect to mail2web Webmail. Some browsers might be old, some others may be unable to use ssl/encryption due to policies, etc. So we give the option to each user to choose whatever suits them best when they log in.

How to make secure login the DEFAULT
Tim -
I read your reply and understand the logic.
But many of us use contemporary browsers and *never* want un-encrypted login. How do users like me make SECURE LOGIN the DEFAULT so we don't have to do extra page loads *every time* we want to log-in? (which is especially slow on my WAP cell phone when using mail2wap)
Thank you!

To set it as the default for all users could cause great usability issues for those clients with browsers that do not support the secure features. That said if you wish to ensure a default secure WAP access page you could bookmark the secured page on your mobile device and use that bookmark to access the page instead.

that is probably the best option for anyone who is experiencing this sort of issue. i had no idea that some browser types wouldn't allow access to secured pages and what not so that was some pretty insightful info for me.

either way, definitely make sure you think twice with personal info if it's not a secure log in

good advice here--I've ignored secure/nonsecure log-ins and the past and I really regret it now
