OK, I tested it out and confirmed it works the same way for my account. I'll try to find out what could be done.

I made a few inquiries, and it looks like its a built in feature in Microsoft Exchange. There's not much we can do to change it right now, unfortunately.

    Post HI

Did you try these rules found a this post : http://forums.msexchange.org/m_1800503340/tm.htm

There doesn't seem to be a built in way to do this. I found some transport rules on experts-exchange how to delete the read receipt before it gets to the mailbox.

    Rule 1:
    From users outside the organization
    Remove header "X-Confirm-Reading-To"

    Rule 2:
    From users outside the organization
    Remove header "Disposition-Notification-To"

    Rule 3:
    From users outside the organization
    Remove header "Return-Receipt-To"

    Rule 4:
    From users outside the organization
    Remove header "Receipt-Requested-To"

Nice info, mkhalil. But is a read receipt still a standard Microsoft Exchange feature these days, and do those deletion instructions still work?
