    Default POP3S support

    Hello all,

I have a question regarding the support of POP3S (using SSL and the port 995) in mail2web webmail:

I was previously able to use the mail2web webmail system to read emails online when our Email accounts where served under "unsecured" POP3 (port 110). However, we recently migrated to use the more "secure" POP3S (ie POP3 under SSL, on port 995), and I can't seem to be able to login and access the emails anymore thru mail2web (Note that Outlook works fine with the same credential and connection information...)

I tried checking the box "SSL" on the advanced login page, but it doesn't seem to help...

    Any idea?

    Thanks,

This is the right thing to do. I could be a problem with your server name or username. Have you confirmed with your email administrator that you are entering the correct values?

I am the email admin here, so I guess I should ask myself...
The values are identical to the values entered in regular email systems such as MS Outlook, Outlook Express, or Thunderbird, which are all working fine under POP3S...

If I'm opening port 110 in our firewall and enabling the POP3 protocol along the POP3S protocol, I can access Email thru mail2web just fine with the exact same settings. As soon as I close port 110 on the firewall, mail2web doesn't work anymore... (which seems to indicate that it still uses port 110 even though I checked the "SSL" box on the advanced login page)

If you would like to check the issue on your own, I can definitely quickly set up a POP3S account for you to test directly on our server... (Please Email me at gdurot@i4i.com so that we can set it up...)

    Thanks a lot!
