mail2web.com Introduces Next-Generation Blogging Service

Toronto, Ontario --- December 7, 2005

mail2web.com, a world-wide application provider for consumers and businesses and a brand of Softcom Technology Consulting Inc., announced today the official launch of its own MediaBlog service. This free service goes beyond traditional web logs or blogs by providing support for any file type a member may want to upload and share through a personal, customizable space on the mediablog portal (http://mediablog.mail2web.com).

In addition, the mail2web.com MediaBlog supports making blog posts directly from popular mobile phone applications such as Nokia’s Lifeblog, included on most of Nokia’s latest handsets as well as support for Apple® iTunes Podcasting.

“We wanted to build upon the success of our email retrieval application and provide our loyal customers something they have been asking for, said Tony Yustein, CEO of SoftCom Technology Consulting Inc. “While there are a lot of free blog services in the market, in my opinion most have deficiencies. In developing our own product we took the opportunity to address those shortcomings.”

One of the main shortcomings mail2web.com identified were file restrictions. While traditional blogs only support images, mail2web.com’s MediaBlog product allows members to upload any file type, from a Powerpoint® Presentation to a MPEG4 video file. There are no identified restriction on file size or file type.

“With our email retrieval application our focus has always been to ensure compliance with hand-held devices, whether it’s a basic mobile phone or a more advanced PDA, and we’ve tried to do the same with this product,” said Yustein. “Mobile phones now out number Personal Computers and some are almost as powerful. With all our products we want to make sure we continue to support that growing market.”

The support for devices is evident in the recent release of the mail2web.com MediaBlog service, where a member can publish to their blog by sending an email message – from any device - to a unique email address and include media files as attachments. In addition to this mail2web.com is looking forward and has included support for the Atom standard, an interface that supports publishing from a variety of client applications, most notably Nokia’s Lifeblog application which comes pre-installed on more recent Nokia phones.

This release complements a suite of free consumer products including a free email retrieval application, a free Jabber-based chat service that allows users to chat with MSN®, AOL®, YAHOO® and ICQ® users through one account, a free Usenet reader and an online games section.

Recent additions to mail2web.com paid services include greater coverage for their global ISP product, providing access in over 170 countries with 50,000 Broadband Wi-Fi hotspots including in–flight access on select Boeing airline flights.
